The focus of this workshop is on the body as a creative process. By approaching the body with interest and openness to discovery, we will explore how the primary movement motives and processes of our biology can serve as a metaphor for our creative endeavors. Continuum offers a methodology with which we learn to be receptive to new and unfamiliar patterns moving through us.
All creative processes challenge us to learn to recognize and welcome the unknown. In this module, we will further develop our perceptual capacity and deepen our sensory awareness of the still realm of inner movement. Through continuous practice, we will experience moving within an underlying unity and drawing closer to the source of life. The nature of the body becomes a resource we can trust and rely on as we encounter unfamiliar territory and explore the emerging possibilities of new innovations.
In this workshop we explore:
the relationship between imagination and image-to-body function and expression
the role of creative play and dialogue in all learning processes
how context shapes the possibilities and outcomes of all creative processes
Curriculum
Curriculum of the entire training course
You can join the training at any time. The modules are repeated cyclically. Booking the entire training course instead of individual modules is available at a reduced price.
Module 7
29.05. - June 1, 2025 | Versatility, bringing inner practice to outer expression with Jane Okondo
Enables the expansion of how Continuum can support the embodiment of being in the environment.
Deepening self-exploratory learning, expanding the capacity for dynamic stillness, and dissolving familiar structures into a fluid model of coherence.
Module 8
October 21 - 26, 2025 | Ouroborus, Moving Medicine from the Darkness with Kai Ehrhardt
Dedication to the themes of life cycles, death, and initiation
Retreat with a continuum movement sequence, in which each element has a different function and effect on the overall system, all of which train permeability, presence, and the capacity for surrender
The final 42 hours will no longer be interrupted by language, allowing everyone to engage with their own rhythm and personal themes
Module 1
05.02. - 08.02.2026 | Values, Principles, and Methods of Practice with Mary Abrams
Focus on the principles and values of Continuum
Deepening our understanding through practices of breath, sound, movement, touch, and witnessing, along with nonverbal creative expression and verbal dialogue
Module 2
07.05. - 10.05.2026 | Self-care and self-efficacy with Rosemarie Kussinger-Steffes
Enriching and nourishing our organism
Changing the structure and information of our organism through revitalizing movements
Recognizing the possibility of self-regulation of our system through less constriction and restriction
Module 3
03.09. - 06.09.2026 | The Resonant Heart Field with Divo G. Müller
Exploring the dimensions and frequency levels of the heart, based on our embryonic heritage and transpersonal resonance with the planetary heart field.
Building somatic fluidity, emotional resilience, and inner spiritual resources to connect with the mystery of life on the threshold of the unknown.
From the somatic depths, our essential heart gifts and wounds become accessible and thus available for healing, transformation, and vision.
From this, a resonant heart field unfolds, inviting us beyond body, time, and space to dwell in the intimacy and interconnectedness of all beings.
Module 4
12.11. - 15.11.2026 | Embodiment and the Creative Process with Robin Becker
Empowerment to question self-limiting beliefs about ourselves, our body-mind, or our personal/professional practices
Examination of the principles of the Continuum as the foundation for freedom of expression and research
Module 5
tba 2027 | Embodied Flow System with Megan Bathory Peeler
Focusing of the body as a creative process
If we approach the body with interest and openness to discoveries, we will examine how the primary motive motifs and processes of our biology can serve as a metaphor for our creative efforts
Continuum offers a methodology with which we learn to be receptive to new and unknown patterns that move through us
Module 6
17.06. - 20.06.2027 | The Art of Attention with Tone Gilje
Focus on enlivening and activating our perceptual awareness
Recognizing familiar patterns, cultural influences, and limitations that determine our daily activities through slowing down
When we are aware of these patterns, we can consciously direct our attention and focus to the subtler movements, forms, and currents that may still lie in the unfamiliar territory of our organism, waiting to be experienced, felt, or expressed in new ways
Who is Continuum Training aimed at?
This training is aimed at laypeople, professionals in the field of somatics, therapists, creative professionals, managers, innovators – all those who have a body and would like to explore on a deeper level what it means to be a human being living in a holistic way in the physical body.
Many participants come for their personal experience and can deepen their practice through contact with eight Continuum experts. Previous experience with Continuum is recommended for some modules.
Detailed Information
What is Continuum?
Continuum is a somatic approach that invites us to explore and tune into our bodies as a living process, a continuous orchestration of communication and resonance, a creative intelligence inherent in every cell.
We can experience that we are movement, and that the movement we are influences the movement we make. What's more, we come into direct sensory contact with an all-pervasive regulatory dynamic.

What is the background of Continuum?
Emilie Conrad founded Continuum in the 1960s and continued to develop it until her death in 2014.
This continuing education program, taught by eight faculty members, integrates Continuum content from different decades.
All instructors were trained directly by Emilie Conrad and came into contact with her work at different times. The program aims to bring together different "periods" of Continuum's development through experienced instructors, thus connecting with its historical development.
The arc of Continuum's history provides the opportunity to explore where it wants to develop further.
How is the training structured?
This continuing education program, taught by eight faculty members, integrates Continuum content from different decades. All teachers studied with Emilie Conrad, who founded Continuum in the 1960s and continued to develop it until her death in 2014.
Emilie Conrad taught in a mode of continuous exploration. While each new developmental step was embedded in and built upon the previous one, this meant, among other things, that students who encountered the work in the 1980s dealt with different content than those who encountered the method in the 2000s. This training program aims to bring together different "periods" of Continuum's development by bringing together teachers who encountered the work at different times.
Furthermore, it is in keeping with the essence of Continuum to perceive itself as a living process and thus be open to the continuous development of teaching content and applications. Although we are guided by fundamental core principles, Continuum remains an ongoing, constantly unfolding journey of exploration into the mystery of conscious human life. Through the diversity of teachers in this training, we hope to support participants in trusting their own questions and the progression of their individual somatic movement research, as well as in developing their own teaching approach.

What added value does Continuum training offer?
Continuum training is recommended if you aspire to become a Continuum Teacher yourself. However, it alone is not sufficient to be able to teach. The process to officially become a Continuum Teacher is guided by the Continuum Teacher Association (CTA). In addition to a diverse range of self-awareness, additional practical experience and the support of a recognized mentor are required.
With eight experts, all of whom studied directly with Emilie Conrad and are also members of the CTA, the Somatic Academy Berlin offers a high-quality foundation for integrating Continuum into the larger context of somatic methods and approaches. Each individual module represents a personal benefit for individual development and can be booked independently. A Somatic Academy certification is issued for participation in all eight modules of the Continuum training.
Kai Ehrhardt, curator of this Continuum training at the Somatic Academy Berlin, is a member of the Continuum Teachers Association (CTA) www.continuumteachers.com and is happy to answer any further questions.
